RTVE attends the LA Screenings international market again, to be held from 16 to 19 May in Los Angeles. The Corporation will present its main new developments in fiction: Queens and Servir y Proteger ( to Serve and Protect ).

Queens is a series shot entirely in English that tackles the rivalry that existed between two great European monarchs: Mary Stuart of Scotland and Elizabeth I of England: a conflict whose resolution would lay the foundations of the British Empire.

It has been very well received in the past MIPTV, where it has attracted the attention of buyers from many countries, most notably France, Italy, Russia, the USA and Portugal.

The daily series Servir y Proteger  ( to Serve and Protect ) is a police drama that portrays everyday life in a police station in a southern suburb of Madrid. The plots revolve around its main characters, two policewomen, their colleagues and the different cases they are required to solve. Beyond the detective intrigue, the bottom line is human relationships and feelings: love, jealousy, rivalry, power and authority struggles, etc.

The cases also allow the series to focus on social problems from a human perspective: immigration-related issues, lack of resources, gender violence, disputes between neighbors, evictions, assaults and small drug offenses.

In addition to these titles, RTVE will also present other new fiction products such as El final del camino ( Santiago: the path s end ) and iFamily, as well as the daily series Seis Hermanas ( Six Sisters ) and Acacias 38, which have already become an international benchmark. It will also present its extensive catalog, with highlights such as the historical series IsabelCarlos, Rey Emperador ( Carlos, King Emperor ), the film  La Corona partida ( Broken Kingdom ) and the TV movie  La Princesa Paca ( Princess Paca ).

RTVE s main objective for this international market is to present the variety and quality of its catalog, which is attracting growing interest among OTT platforms that distribute content in Spanish in the Americas.

LA Screenings is an independent market, attended by a large number of buyers from leading audiovisual companies from some 70 countries. It is a great opportunity to see the new developments prepared by large production studios for next season. It is also attended by major television corporations from a large number of countries that come to present their latest fiction products.

RTVE s commercial team will be led by the Deputy Director of Content Sales, Rafael Bardem, who will be accompanied by Sales Executives Antonio Pérez Bonilla, Raúl Molina and Fernando Hernández.
