This year more than 200 health professionals have suffered physical and verbal attacks in the Canary Islands
Less than in 2015 but with the same numbers as prior years. System failures and waiting lists are among the main reasons.

The SCS has registered 253 attacks against health personnel. The number of physical attacks has been reduced but there continues to be a high number of verbal attacks. 70 percent of the victims are female staff members. Waiting lists and system failures are usually the most frequent causes. Only 70 percent of the cases reach the Attorney's office.
