The Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will be coming to the whole world
TVE will emit the soirées of the queen and the drag queen at the regional, national and international level. It will reach a potential audience of 420 million viewers.
The Town Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has arranged the deal so that the two public televisions of the islands would broadcast the city¿s carnivals to the whole world. The autonomous channel will broadcast all the acts in the regional circuit. Whereas TVE will put the soirées of the queen and drag queen on air in the Canary Islands as well as at the national and international level. This will make these events available to 420 million viewers.
This broadcast has been a challenge for the director of RTVE in the Canary Islands since his arrival to the position three years ago. Consequently, he assures he feels "immensely happy". It is, says Domingo Álvarez, an event in itself that two public televisions join to look for the best for our own.
With this display, the capital town¿s Council expects that before it finishes the 2017 edition of the city¿s Carnival, it is declared a party of national touristic interest.
