The year is coming to an end, and it is the last day of the first half of the season and of 2016. The league will be back on 8 January. In Segunda B, Villanovense, third in the table, will face last-placed Atlético Sanluqueño at Romero Cuerda stadium. They will play on Sunday at 5pm, as will La Roda-Mérida. The team from Mérida are looking to confirm their comeback in the table. As anecdote, Mérida manager Eloy Jiménez will face his son, who is a rival player.

Meanwhile, second-bottom Extremadura de Almendralejo will face Real Murcia at Francisco de la Hera stadium while waiting for new owners. Their goal is to claim their second home win of the season.

In Third Division, Cacereño will finish the first half of the season at the top of the table no matter what the outcome against Olivenza. Other interesting matches include Azuaga-Coria, Don Benito-Iberitos Santa Amalia and Badajoz-Pueblonuevo.

In basketball, Cáceres will be visited by Calzados Robusta from Logroño. We are also waiting to see how the swimmers from Extremadura do at the Spanish Short Course Swimming Championship in Sabadell, with Miguel Durán among the favourites to win a medal
