Gran Canaria Island Council celebrates the first European Sports Island event. During the ceremony, not only was tribute paid to the best sports players of the year, but the brand of Gran Canaria was also reinforced as a benchmark sports destination.
The prize winners included the tennis player Carla Suárez, the football player Juan Carlos Valerón, the taekwondist Aythami Santana, the Laser Radial racer Joel Rodríguez, the dinghy racer Tomás Moraleso and the Herbalife Gran Canaria club.
