'The emperor's paths', a new documentary series on TVE
In 2017, Spanish Television TVE will begin broadcasting this new production which centres on the monarchic figure of Carlos V. Scenes from his last few years of life are currently being filmed in Jarandilla de la Vera and the Yuste Monastery, in the province of Cáceres.

Actor Mario Zorrilla will play Carlos V and Juan Egea will take the role of Count Oropesa, who played host to the monarch in his Jarandilla de la Vera palace, where audiences will see the emperor in a more fragile and human light.
Juan Frutos, from Extremadura, directs the five episodes in the series, which mixes documentary cinema, travel journals and fiction.
