Social media platforms and their impact on minors

Back on the 16th of May, the European Commission opened formal proceedings against Meta to investigate possible breaches of the Digital Services Act when it comes risk of addiction, privacy, safety and security of minors who use their platforms, Facebook and Instagram. To analyse the proceedings and the reason behind them, we speak with Johannes Bahrke, spokesperson for the commission.

And after that, Jorge Ramiro, professor of criminology applied to digital spaces in the Universidad Europea, tells us about the real impact of these social media platforms on children and teenagers.
