Frank Smith talks to Ramón Buckley, professor of contemporary Spanish literature and politics, author, translator and editor.
Ramón has worked for many American Universities, both in the States and in Spain. His books include a study of the literature and politics of the Spanish transition and another on the Spanish avant-garde. He has also translated many English classics into Spanish, including Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and Henry James's The Turn of the Screw. He edited and translated a book written by his father, Henry Buckley -- an English journalist who was correspondent for The Daily Chronicle during the thirties, covering the Spanish Republic and the Civil War -- on the rise and fall of the Spanish Republic.
Ramón is currently working on a literary biography of Miguel Delibes, one of the great Spanish novelists of the 20th century (24/06/11).
