For 27 years Hay Festival has been bringing together writers, filmmakers, comedians, politicians, scientists, environmentalists and musicians from around the world to debate and share stories and celebrate the power of great ideas to transform our way of thinking. Hay is, according to ex US president Bill Clinton, 'The Woodstock of the mind'.

Hay Festivals take place on five continents and forthcoming events are to be held in Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Ireland and Bangladesh, as well as the original Festival in Hay-on-Wye, Wales.

In Spain, the festival recently celebrated its tenth anniversary amongst the Romanesque churches, palaces, convents, gardens and aqueduct of the spectacular town of Segovia, some 80 kilometres north west of Madrid, and a World Heritage site.

To mark the occasion we speak to various people intimately connected with the Hay Festival here in Spain.
