Art Guy y The New Dimensions

Hoy vamos a hablarte de Art Guy, un tipo que, siendo un crío, llegó con su familia a California a finales de los 50 y se zambulló de lleno en la escena musical de Los Ángeles. Fue el batería fundador de la legendaria banda de surf The New Dimensions -junto al guitarra Michael Lloyd y el teclista Jim Greenspoon- y acabó la década en el grupo de culto de sonido Costa Oeste y rhythm n’ blues Smokestack Lightning.
Entre ambas bandas Art Guy llegó a editar un único single en solitario y a su nombre. Esa rodaja de vinilo de 1967 es una valorada pieza de coleccionismo que por fin ha sido reeditada gracias al sello Hyperloop Recordings. Aprovechando el lanzamiento, nos pudimos poner en contacto con Art y hacerle unas cuantas preguntas sobre su trayectoria musical, con especial atención para esa banda de surf que grabó tres álbumes en la edad dorada del género cuando sus integrantes tenían entre 14 y 15 años.
