The Nederlands Dans Theatre: Paul Lightfoot and Sol León

 The Nederlands Dans Theatre presented two ballets at Madrid's Teatro Real this past month, Sehnsucht (Yearning) and Schmetterling (Butterfly).  Inspired by the music of American Indie band The Magnetic Fields, minimalist composer Max Richter and Ludwig Von Beethoven, choreographers Paul Lightfoot, of Britain and Sol León, of Spain collaborated to create these pieces of virtuosity dancing.  They spoke about the two works, about the NDT's relationship with Spanish dancers and about their own partnership.
