To mark the 60th anniversary of the first successful ascent of Mount Everest, whose summit was reached on May 29th, 1953 by New Zealander Edmund Hillary (1919-2008) and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay (1914-1986), Justin Coe and Frank Smith talk to Gina Stobart, the daughter of Thomas Ralph Stobart (1914-1980), who was on the famous 1953 expedition and made the film documentary "The Conquest of Everest" about it. And a conquest it surely was--at 29,035 feet (8850 meters), Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. Tom Stobart later settled with his family on Spain's Balearic Island of Mallorca, where Gina still lives today. Among other things, Gina mentions her father's special liking for the mountain on Mallorca known as Puig de Galatzó due to its resemblance to Everest (29/05/13).
