Visitors to "Vogue's Fashion Night Out," one of the most popular events of Madrid's Fashion Week, are witness to a collaboration between an NGO in India and a fashion design school in Madrid. But a far more valuable result of this collaboration than the hand-embroidered and batiked creations for sale are the Indian women of the City of Joy--a slum in Calcutta--whose lives have been changed by the NGO's program. Alison Hughes talks with the coordinator of The Colors of Calcutta, María de Muns of the Fundación Ananta.
