Social justice activist Charlotte Kates

 Our guest Charlotte Kates is an American social justice activist now based in Beruit, Lebanon.  Currently the coordinator of Samidoun, the Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network and the International Committee of the National Lawyer's Guild of the United States, Ms. Kates spoke about some of the connections between Palestinian activists in Gaza and demonstrators in Ferguson, Missouri, in the US, where the police killing of an unarmed African American teenager prompted weeks of protests.  The websites of the two organizations Ms. Kates works with are www.samidoun.ca and www.nlg.org (23/09/14).
