Quartetto Noûs

Among its multiple activities, the Instituto Italiano in Madrid hosts chamber concerts and the Quartetto Noûs performed there. Founded in 2011, the string quartet is comprised of Tiziano Baviera on violin, Sara Dambrusoso on viola, Alberto Franchin on violin and Tommaso Tesino on cello. Violinist Alberto Franchin spoke with us about the variety of musical languages this tight quartet explores, and to illustrate that, we play excerpts from one of their cds featuring pieces by Mendelssohn and Anton Webern.
