Today's program focuses on economic and labor issues reflected in the annual reports published recently by Oxfam and the ILO, globally and in Spain. The improved unemployment figures in this country continue to be undercut by reduced real wages, the creation of vulnerable or unsteady employment and the rise in number of "working poor." A preposterously long line of potential workers waiting to deliver their CVs in person, as required by the hotel that announced job openings without specifying the qualifications needed and the hiring practices of a food-courier service reflect some of the latest trends in employment.
