Wildfires in northwestern Spain and Portugal continue to blaze, so far they have left over thirty dead and hundreds injured. The fires in Spain appear to have been set by arsonists. The first part of today's program treats some of the climate-related news, including tropical storm Ophelia which hit Ireland Monday, the struggles of the people of Puerto Rico in the aftermath of two hurricanes, the wildfires in northern California, the continued exodus of Rohingya moslems from Myanmar in the midst of flooding, and more. Those stories are followed by news from Somalia, Iraq, Syria and the US President's announcement that he would not certify Iran's compliance with the strictures on its nuclear program. That, despite consistent reports from the UN Atomic Energy Agency inspectors that Iran is and has been complying. The EU defends the Iran accord while Israel celebrates Trump's move.
