In today’s programme we meet two Spanish stars of the world of ballet in the form of Laura Morera and Ricardo Cervera, respectively Principal and First Soloist of The Royal Ballet in the United Kingdom. Both are Spanish, both have reached the pinnacle of their field and both recently visited Madrid to conduct a masterclass and to promote the first of a series of unique screen broadcasts.
The Royal Ballet is based at The Royal Opera House in London and it is from here that a series of 13 opera and ballet productions is currently being screened live in high definition in 2000 cinemas across 60 countries, including Spain. The first screening was of “Romeo & Juliet”, Kenneth McMillan’s adaptation for ballet of Shakespeare’s play, which was broadcast in Cinesa cinemas in several Spanish cities.
