In today's program we share an interview with British filmmaker John Boorman, whose latest film, Queen and Country, has just been released in Spain. From the director's memories of the British military in the 1950's and his views of the British empire and monarchy, we turn to the first official visit by Spain's King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia to the United States. During his meeting with President Obama, the King emphasized the two countries' historical ties and noted the honorary citizenship given to Bernardo de Gálvez, who helped the Americans in their War of Independence. The trip concluded with a visit to St Augustine in Florida, where local media eagerly awaited the King and Queen to celebrate the city's founding, 450 years ago, by a Spaniard.
