Jesús Guridi, composer

Described as "among the most underrated composers of the 20th century," Jesús Guridi is finally enjoying a revival. The Basque composer wrote several zarzuelas, including "Mirentxu" - from which we play an aria performed by soprano Ainhoa Arteta with the RTVE Symphony Orchestra conducted by Enrique García Asensio. His 10 Basque Melodies, composed in 1941, are thought to be one of the most important contributions to 20th century Spanish music.
