English language broadcast - 19/06/14

 After a special report dedicated to the proclamation of Spain's new king, Felipe VI, Justin Coe and Alison Hughes are joined in the studio for a discussion of the Spanish monarchy with three guest, all long-time observers of the Spanish scene: Dutch journalist and veteran correspondent, Robbert Bosschart, Guy Hedgecoe, former editor of El País in English, and Gil Carbajal, a colleague of ours here at REE for many years.  In this roundtable, we review the events of the past week and a half, the announcement of King Juan Carlos's abdication, compare Spain's situation with that of neighboring countries, and speculate a little on the future.
