After the news and our daily "good-bye to shortwave" announcement, we welcome to our studios on the outskirts of Madrid one hot blues band from Barcelona, A Contra Blues. Actually, Alberto, Héctor, Joan, Jonathan, and Nuria prefer to describe themselves as a "roots" or "Americana" band whose music is imbued with the blues. A Contra Blues have just been in Madrid to play three gigs at La Coquette, Spain's oldest blues bar, located at the very heart of the capital. A Contra Blues have released four albums so far and, after winning the 2014 edition of the European Blues Challenge in April, have travelled thousands of kilometers crisscrossing Europe to play major blues festivals. They have two more festival dates before the end of the year, one in Denmark and the other in Lucerne, Switzerland.
