After the newscast, our Listeners' Club is dedicated to short wave memories, as told by the DXer and long-time REE listener in the United States, Marlene Sherburne. It is the second of two phone conversations with this devoted radio fan and professional, who recounts the friendships she developed over time with broadcasters in both Western and Eastern Europe, and tells of a visit to an FM station in Greece. Marlene Sherburne and Justin share memories of great radio drama and websites where some of the classic radio theater programs can still be heard. The broadcast ends with the music of gypsy guitar master Sabicas, perhaps flamenco's most international artist. Pamplona, in the northern region of Navarre, is hardly associated with Flamenco, the music and dance that originated in Andalusia. And yet, Pamplona is hosting its first flamenco festival--called, "Flamenco on Fire"--in honor of one of the city's most illustrious sons, Sabicas, born Agustín Castellón Campos in Pamplona in 1912.
