El 20 de julio de 1969 el modulo lunar Eagle se posó sobre una superficie lunar bautizada como Mar de la Tranquilidad, y Neil Armstrong y Edwin Aldrin fueron los primeros humanos que caminaron por el único satélite del planeta Tierra -al pobre Michael Collins le tocó quedarse en el módulo de mando- .
