Murillo and his religious iconography in the Cathedral of Seville

Murillo y su iconografía religiosa, en la Catedral de Sevilla
Eladio Hernández

The Cathedral of Seville joins forces around the year dedicated to the painter Bartolomé Esteban Murillo by contributing the works commissioned to the artist. Under the title La Mirada de la Santidad (¿The Gaze of Saintliness¿), visitors will be able to contemplate the 17 paintings distributed across several areas of the Cathedral. Some of them are widely known, such as La Inmaculada Concepción (¿The Immaculate Conception¿) or portraits of saints, such as that of San Fernando, patron saint of Seville. The art exhibition is accompanied by informative panels with reproductions in high definition and display cabinets, in addition to original documentaries so visitors won¿t lose sight of the universal baroque painter¿s relationship with the cathedral chapter and his era... The exhibition Murillo en la Catedral (¿Murillo in the Cathedral¿) will be open until December 8th next year...
