The trial against Gabriel Fajardo begins. He sits on the bench having confessed to the murder of his mother. In October 2016, he went to visit her at home with a pocketknife hidden in his backpack, and he stabbed her 13 times. The woman died hours later in hospital.
Financial motives have emerged as a possibility, but sexual motives have also not been discarded.
