Week eight in the Second Division
Week eight in the second division has seen Andalusian teams record two victories, Granada and Cordoba, and three losses, Almeria, Cadiz and Sevilla Atlético.
A third consecutive victory for Granada after winning 2-0 against Lugo, who came into Los Carmenes Stadium with a streak of 4 consecutive wins. Espinosa scored at the half-hour mark by finishing a loose ball in the box while Kunde added another in injury time, lifting Oltra¿s team to sixth place and a play-off spot.
Córdoba also won by a score of 3 to 0 against Alcorcón, in a match that was decided in a span of 7 minutes, between the 52nd minute and the 59th. Córdoba scored 3 goals in that time, one by Markovic, one by Hugo Alvarez and an own goal by Guardiola. Luis Carrión¿s team, who was whistled as they took the field, has moved out of the relegation zone.
Cadiz fell 0-2 against Osasuna at the Carranza stadium, in a match that will go down in history because Cervera¿s team missed 3 penalties. One from Aitor, which Sergio Herrera stopped, and two more in the second half. David Barral¿s failed attempt had to be repeated due to a fan invading the field, yet his second attempt was also a miss. Osasuna took advantage of the gifts and Xisco Jimenez and External Cuevas brought their team victory.
Almeria finished off the week at home with a 0-3 loss to Huesca, and Seville Atletico remains bottom of the league after losing to Gijon by the same score. Tevenet¿s team are now six points from safety.
