The Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones of Seville is playing host, from today onwards and for three days, to The UNVEXT ECHO AGRO Fair, an international event that will bring together experts and companies from the drones sector.

This year, the event is focusing on the use of drones in the agricultural and environmental sectors. The adviser has stressed that Spain should position itself firmly in this area, where it already has an ¿advantage¿ over other territories.

It is estimated that drone use will grow exponentially over 10 years and that 1 billion euros will pass through the industry in Spain alone; 140 million of which being in Andalusia.

According to Carnero, Spain has over 2,000 approved drone operators, and Andalusia ¿has an advantage¿ due to its facilities such as the Advanced Centre of Aerospace Technologies (CATEC), leader in Europe in the development of drones, and the Experimental Flights Centre (ATLAS) in Jaén.

For a total of three days, the meeting will bring together the major players in the agricultural, agrifood and environmental sectors, as well as large-scale industries and multinationals, service companies, technicians and developers in the field of RPAS/UAS/drones from throughout Spain.
