Tenerife, leader of La Liga 1|2|3

Tenerife last led the Segunda A league table eight years, two months and seven days ago, at the start of the last week in the 2008-2009 season, which was the last time they were promoted to the First Division.

Barcelona - Tenerife

2990 days later, it is at the top of the Second Division. Tenerife has not led the table since Sunday 21 June 2009, before concluding the 42nd week of the championship. With a 0-3 win against Barcelona it has regained that position eight years, two months and a week later.

Martí's team dominated Barça B, with Juan Carlos Real scoring in the 19th minute on his first attack. Suso, in extraordinary form, made it a double with a penalty in the 39th minute. Despite being a recent signing, Longo made his debut as a substitute when Juan Villar was brought off, and scored the final goal at the 69th minute to make it 0-3.

Tenerife equalled a record of the 76-77 season. It's 41 years since it won its first two league matches in Segunda A.

After the second week of La Liga 1|2|3, it is the only team in the category with six points, with four goals in its favour and none against.

It has not led the Second Division since the start of the final week of the season the last time it was promoted to Primera. Last night in the Miniestadi it proved it has what it takes to do it again. Tenerife is already a candidate.
