Sevilla gain fluky win in Getafe
Sevilla won 1-0 in Getefe thanks to a goal by Ganso, outperforming Berizzo's team.
Sevilla have achieved the first win of the season in Getafe, albeit by fluke, thanks to Ganso, who with 7 minutes to go scored by deflecting the ball from Mercado. The incredible goal was just about the only thing the Brazilian did right; as pretty much the whole Sevilla team underperformed.
Berizzo¿s team were consistently outplayed by Getafe, who were simply better at everything. Their only downfall was their failure to score. In some instances the blame was due to Sergio Rico, and in others to the finishers, namely Amath and Jorge Molina. Sevilla was at the mercy of their rival. They didn't dominate the game at all, have power over the ball or create danger for their opponent. Nolito didn't take advantage of all his opportunities, and in the final stretch, with the scoreboard in their favour, Muriel, who after a run had the chance to change the score, proved that scoring, at least at the moment, is not his strong point. Now Sevilla is going through the selections, losing Nzonzi, the 5 international Argentines, Kjær and Muriel, before hosting to SD Eibar on Saturday 9 September.
