The Caceres town of Valdeobispo is celebrating the May Day Festival to welcome spring, making dolls out of earthenware jugs, fabric and necklaces and bracelets made of wild flowers.
The dolls are paraded around the village, while the residents sing popular Spanish ballads, until they get to the nearby pond, where they are thrown into the water and broken with stones.
