The public jury has found the two children of the elderly woman who passed away in the capital of Tenerife in 2015 guilty of gross negligence manslaughter. The victim was 76 years old and dependent on care. The coroner determined that the woman died from severe neglect and multiple organ failure.
The Public Prosecutor's Office handed a sentence of 17 years in prison to both siblings and 10 years for the defence.
