José Luis González, from Merida, has been declared the Muay Thai World Champion in Thailand (also called Thai boxing in Bangkok), beating competitors from Italy and China, and been awarded the winning belt and a gold medal.
González, who started practising the sport when he was 14, was Spanish champion in 2013 and European champion in 2015.
