The club has already requested to host the final stage of the competition, if it should qualify. A senior official of FIBA is visiting the Santiago Martín Pavilion today to evaluate its candidacy to host the Final Four.
The Canarians are currently living out their best period in 78 years. And this match could be the culmination of a magnificent season, according to the manager. But the manager underlined yesterday that Asvel is the French champion and has won more leagues in France than any other team; a group with very good players, that is very well coached, and has superior physical power to that of his team. And will, therefore, be an extremely difficult match-up.
