Mérida is fifth in the table and is striving to move up and win, while Extremadura is sixteenth and wants to survive Second Division B. Even still, anything could happen on the day. Juan Sabas¿ team have won their last six games, and Eloy Jiménez¿s team has had four wins and a draw.

Furthermore, they are both teams with strong defences. Sabas: letting two goals in over five matches. Eloy: letting just one goal in over a lot of matches.
