The Tenerife hospital postponed 6 operations due to a shortage of 0+ blood. Instead, they carried out other interventions where that blood type was not necessary. The Canary Islands Blood Donor Institute has confirmed the shortage and is calling on the population to increase donations. Existing reserves are being kept for emergencies.
