Several members of the National Police went to a building on Antonio Floriano street in Cáceres for a 112 notice for a supposed homicide at a house. When going up to the residence, the agents found a woman hugging and calming a man down, that, according to her, was her son and was the one who shot his father and killed him.

The Police found the lifeless body of Ángel Cortés, 68 years old, in one of the bedrooms with a wound from a firearm. According to the sources of the investigation, as a possible crime motive, the father's supposed abuse towards the mother is being considered, although there are no official reports registered for domestic abuse.
