A poor showing for Extremadura in January's Segunda B matches

In the last week of the league, Villanovense drew against La Balona, Extremadura also drew against Recreativo de Huelva, and Mérida lost in Granada. The three teams from Extremadura have won only one match between them in the last twelve played.

Villanovense drew 1-1 against Julio Cobos' La Balona, with a goal by Curro for the Extremaduran team and another by Alfonso to give Balompédica Linense the draw. This means Villanovense is still fourth in the league, but they have not had a win since 17 December. They have three of twelve possible points, but even so, their options are still open: they are fourth in the league and nine points behind the leader, Cartagena.

For its part, Mérida lost 3-1 in Granada, but are still in tenth place and just six points from a place in the playoffs for promotion; Extremadura drew 1-1 against Recre, and is one place from the bottom, with 14 points.

There is a new leader in Tercera. C.D. Badajoz took first place from Cacereño and is now two points ahead. And news at the bottom of the board: in the end Díter Zafra is not being dissolved, and will play this Sunday against Arroyo.
