Extremadura will have a long-term infrastructure plan
The Board of Extremadura will have to present a Strategic Agreement for Infrastructure before 15th of May. It is one of the modifications presented by the Partido Popular to the regional budget, which has been supported by PSOE and Ciudadanos. Podemos, however, has shown some reserve as it believes it is not duly quantified. The plan must be approved by two thirds of the autonomous chamber.
The plan is a long-term Agreement to carry out road and transport infrastructures, hydraulic structures, and farming infrastructure. The proposal has been put forth by the Partido Popular parliamentary group, which presented it as a way to improve the regional Budget Bill for 2017. A spokesperson of the party has said that it will be financed with the funds that arrive from Europe, adding that the project must by presented before the 15th May and be approved by two thirds of the chamber. PSOE and Ciudadanos have stated that they will support the development, meaning that the agreement will go ahead. However, Podemos believes the plan "lacks a budget".
The Assembly of Extremadura has also agreed to establish, in the space of one month, a committee to monitor the autonomous accounts' implementation.
