C.D Badajoz returns home after its odyssey, unable to face Lorca Deportiva
On Wednesday, Agustín Izquierdo's team got stuck in Puerto Lumbreras, 30 kilometres away from the Artés Carrasco Stadium, due to the snow. They could not reach La Hoya where they were set to take on Lorca in the second match of the round-of-sixteen in the Copa Federación.
The snowstorm in Puerto Lumbreras prevented C.D Badajoz from making it to the Artés Carrasco Stadium where they were to face Lorca Deportiva. They were stuck for ten hours on the motorway until, at last, the authorities allowed that the team's coach to turn around and return home.
The team's coach arrived this Thursday morning to Nuevo Vivero, after a 24-hour journey, and was received with hot chocolate and fritters. The team laughed it off while counting on the support of their rivals, who were keeping an eye out for them at all times, just in case they had to go to collect them with their cars.
Neither those from Extremadura nor those from Murcia know at this time how the qualifying round is going to be resolved. The quarter-final draw takes place this Friday in Madrid.
