Two months after receiving the National Prize for Visual Arts, the CAAM wants to pay homage to Juan Hidalgo. An outspoken man at 89 years of age. That's why he says he would have preferred the Velázquez Prize that was awarded to two of his colleagues.
Founder of the musical group, Zaj, the conceptual and ground breaking artist, Hidalgo, plays down his transgression. "I have never done things with intention of making meaning", he said to us. Last night the CAAM wanted to surprise him with three performances inspired by his work. The exhibition "From CAAM to Juan Hidalgo" brings together 20 pieces from his long career. It can be be seen in Vegueta until the end of February.
