'Flu wave epidemic' comes six weeks early
The Flu Monitoring Network has registered 168 cases per 100.000 inhabitants in Extremadura; based on data from late January and early February. Due to the increase in admissions, several hospitals have had to put three beds in each room, leading patients to complain.

"We have had to increase admissions capacity in general hospitals. And some rooms have more beds than usual", explained the Minister of Health and Social Policies, José María Vergeles. For this reason the SES has reinforced certain services.
The minister said that it is expected that a high number of patients will be discharged this week, once sanitary activity returns to normal.
