Villanovense, third in Second Division B at end of first half of season
Villanovense has just completed its best first half of season in the Second Division B of the football league. Mérida is in sixth place and Extremadura, second-last.

Villanovense ends the year scoring 4-0 against Atlético Sanluqueño, with a goal from Carlos Fernández, Álvaro González and two from Jesús Rubio. As it stands, Manolo Sanlúcar's team is in third place: five points away from the leader, Carthage.
Mérida A.D., on the other hand, drew 0-0 with La Roda and is sixth in its group; five points away from being moved up in the league.
Extremadura was beat 2-0 by Real Murcia in Francisco de la Hera stadium, moving to second-last in its group with only 14 points from a total of 19 matches. Almendralejo's team hopes to solve its institutional crisis to start the second half of the season off well. The second half will start on 7 January 2017.
