Iberostar Tenerife paid dearly for being late to the game. According to Vidorreta it seemed like they needed twenty minutes in play to realise that Javi Beirán was not there. For the trainer the initial team and setup were determined less by Beirán's absence than by an overconfident approach to a competitor at the level of Valencia Basket, because when you are second in the ranking, they are not going to do you any favours.
Meanwhile, in the trainer's words, they were "awful at the field goals", one of the key aspects for this team; in fact, Iberostar Tenerife scored its worst percentages of the season in three-point field goals, with 4 out of 28.
Vidorreta's team is now down to fourth place in the Endesa League leaderboard.
