'La Caixa' to launch programme against child poverty in Badajoz
The Regional Government and the banking foundation have signed a collaboration agreement for social, educational and cultural issues, covering this year and next. 'La Caixa' plans to invest 9 million euros during this period.

The programme, organised through the 'La Caixa' Obra Social initiative, is scheduled to start next year in Extremadura. Its work, focused on combating child poverty , will initially begin in the city of Badajoz. "We will help them to do their homework, to be able to have an afternoon snack and access to basic food, and we will also monitor their studies", explains the General Director of the 'La Caixa' Foundation in Mérida, Jaume Giró.
