The NGO Sonrisas del Suroeste based in Santa Cruz de Tenerife may close down following the assault of several of its volunteers.
The organisation attends to more than 2,000 destitute persons within four municipalities.
It distributes food and toys in Santa María del Mar, but may close down due to fears of its volunteers.
