Strategy for social economy
The strategy for developing Extremadura's social economy has been signed and comprises a set of agreements to create businesses, strengthen those that already exist and implement new measures which will generate employment and wealth, especially in the rural sector.

Twelve percent of Exremadura's GDP comes from social economy, representing 2 billion euros. This business sector employs over 7.700 people and is made up of cooperatives, job centres and work placement companies.
The Social Economy Strategy, which has just been signed by the Council and representative organisations, demonstrates a clear commitment to modernisation.
