Operation Vara continues
The case is still sub judice, but we are gradually getting more information on the alleged parties with underage prostitutes in southern Gran Canaria.

The police have investigated various properties in southern Gran Canaria where allegedly, parties were held, attended by underage girls in order to be prostituted. They belong to the businessman Eugenio Hernández, one of the six people arrested when the case was opened. According to the newspaper Canarias 7, the investigation began after the parents of a 17-year-old girl read about the events in her diary and went to the police. That was when Operation Vara began.
The representative of the Canary Islands government has reiterated that all the details are still sub judice. But he did clarify that the police have concluded their investigation and are now waiting for the judge to decide what should be done next. At present only one of the people under arrest is in custody. He has been named as Agustín Alemán, and has been charged with child prostitution.
