The best medicine
Tenerife beat UCAM Murcia 2-1 with goals by Cristo and Amath. The victory did not give Martí a feeling of relief, but happiness.
The importance of winning had been emphasised over the week, and, although they suffered at the end, victory was achieved. There were doubts in the second half, but results are what give teams their security, which is why there was such insistence on winning.
Tenerife took advantage of two mistakes by UCAM Murcia to take the lead in a match which had not been going in their favour right from the word go. They drew in the 24th minute with a goal by Cristo. With this goal, the pressure was off the team, allowing their character to shine through, and Amath scored the second goal in the 43rd minute.
In the second half, the team concentrated on defending the 2-1 score, to get three points which, according to Martí, were vital. Tenerife goes four games without losing.
