One in three contracts in the Canary Islands is fraudulent
Even before completion of its first phase, the Government of the Canary Islands¿ plan to combat labour exploitation has detected irregularities in work contracts. 32 labour inspectors have been supervising over 1,200 companies across the islands.
Contratos irregulares
The first phase of the plan against labour exploitation ends in four days. But the regional government¿s Vice-President is already warning that figures will be high. 1 in every 3 contracts is fraudulent. Part-time contracts that end up being full-time, or up to 60 per cent extra hours of unpaid overtime are just some examples of the irregularities.
